Red Protesters in Bangkok

Labels: , ,

I saw Red protesters near at Phra Khanong BTS station. I went to downtown of Bangkok on that day. I took the bus going to Phra Khanong BTS station. The bus was almost there. I have to walk since red guys blocked the way. I heard that they blocked most of the main roads in bangkok. I called one of my friends who is going back to Myanmar. Since reds are blocking many ways, I told her to go to air port.Reds seem so happy. Some of them are singing and dancing. I took some photos before taking BTS.

Obama and his new ride

Labels: , ,

Some of my friend may would like to know about Obama's new car.The car has been nicknamed the "Beast". The car is rumored to be able to withstand a rocket-propelled grenade, has a completely sealed interior to protect against chemical attacks, runs on flat tires and even has a seperate oxygen supply. It is worth US $300,000 but it’s not available on the market.I have googled about it's features. Here are some features revealed:

• 8 inches thick armor-plated doors, weighing the same as a cabin door on a Boeing 757 airliner.
• Driver’s window: tough enough to withstand armour-glencing bullet. The only window that opens – by just three inches – allows the driver to talk to the secret service agents running alongside.
• Driver’s Compartment includes standard steering wheel, but the dashboard is installed with a communication center and GPS tracking system.
• The boot contains an independent oxygen supply and advanced fire-fighting system.
• Defense systems include pump-action shotguns, night-vision cameras and tear-gas cannons. Supplies of the President’s blood will also be kept on board in case he needs emergency medical treatment.
• The petrol tank is amour-plated, while also being filled with specially designed foam to prevent it from exploding if the armor is penetrated.
• Tyres on the limousine are Kevlar-reinforced, puncture- and shred-resistant, with special steel rims that allow the car to continue driving even if the tyre is missing.
• The bodywork is made up of a combination of dual-hardness steel, aluminium, titanium and ceramic material to break up possible projectiles.
• Rear Seat: Obama’s seat has an executive packages featuring desktop, laptop computer with wi-fi, state of the art satellite phone and direct line to the vice president and Pentagon.

Labels: , , ,

Thai government will help low salary general workers by supporting 2,000 bahts cheques. It is a good news for them. According to some news, the global economic crises will effect to them mostly. I'm very glad to hear this news.

There was a ceremoney which is a part of thai government's spending package to boost their country's economy. According to some research, millions of thai people getting less than 15,000 bahts ( around about USD 430) a month. They are eligible to receive the cheques. Due to world economy crises about 2 millions of thai people lost their jobs here in thailand. Thai government got their 3 years plan. They will invest 1.56 trillion bahts for their project. They aimed people to get jobs within 3 years. A great government could do such great project.

Latest thai political news 29th March 2009

Labels: , ,

Today is the 3rd day of 35,000 protesters surrounded Thai PM Abhisit office. They will still there up or next week so that Abhisit and other government official could not go to their offices. I also saw on TV that former PM Thaksin Shinawatra is giving a speech to protesters. When I go out for dinner, I saw about that near my home. People seem they support Taksin, they are watching the speech of Thaksin and giving a big hand to him.

The red-shirted followers of former thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra said that PM Abhisit Vejjajiva's government came to power in December illegally and are demanding Parliament be dissolved and new elections held. The British born thai PM Abhisit told reporters that he had given instructions to the 10,000 deployed polices and soldiers to be extra patient because there are expected provocations. For my point of view, thai political situation is more complicated than before.
